Come Build A Company With Me

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

In the next few years, I am looking to expand Ucademy and I want to do this by hiring from our existing student network. Ucademy has already made 9 hires from this pool in the last few years to work on a variety of tasks like this weekly newsletter, app development, Instagram feed, Youtube channel etc...

Considering we have such a stringent policy when hiring from the outside, making 10 hires per 900 job applications on average, student hires are specially valuable to me. I look for them to show:

  • Desire

  • Intelligence

  • Willingness to learn

  • Alignment to my core values of honesty, diligence, trust, and doing their level best

Some of these student-turned employees already receive specialist mentoring and discounted or paid for external services such as courses for universities. In the future, we hope to take it a step further and pay for a part of a degree or even the whole thing.

If you read these newsletters you know what I stand for. You know how much we have to do to raise the standards within the community. So I am looking for students who think they have an entrepreneurial spirit within them. We reach an audience of 10,000+, we do 6 figures annually and we do 1000s of hours of pro-bono work.

We want to take this to the next level.

So if you are a student who has an interest in coding, analysing business/learning about businesses, designing, or writing. Hit me up with a few words or a short video about why you would like to be considered for a role within Ucademy.

We promise meaningful work, flexibility around your studies, amazing perks, good pay, and an inside track on the changes we make to education in the UK and worldwide.

So please email a cover letter or a short video across to:

careers@ucademy.co.uk and cc usman@ucademy.co.uk with the subject line “Junior Application – [YOUR NAME]”.

P.S: We will keep applications open till after exams finish in a few weeks as we don’t want our year 11s and 13s to miss out on this opportunity.

As always, your comments and thoughts are welcome on the topic.
